The wolfs distrust Mowgli because he is a human and they are all animals. During the wolf council, and throughout the rest of the book, the reader can feel the suspicion and doubt between the wolfs and Mowgli. This is similar to how the people don't trust and have doubt in the government.

This symbolizes the dark jungle that Moglie lives in.  It's a beautiful jungle but if you get to comfortable in it will eat you up like a wild fish. So you can't like it get to you.

This picture represents the bear Tabaqui because just like lightning, they both can look cool and nice but they can also be quite scary.
